TOP ECOTOURISM EXPERIENCES IN VIETNAM THAT CHÔM CHÔM TRAVELLERS ENJOY THE MOST!

Updated: Oct 13, 2023

Our Chôm Chôm community are nature lovers that love exploring Vietnam while minimising their impact on the country's stunning environment.

After more than two years of assisting travellers in creating their wonderful adventures, we would like to highlight the top ecotourism activities that our travellers enjoy the most.

1. TREKKING THROUGH THE SCENIC ROUTES OF HA GIANG AND CAO BANG

Trekking is an excellent activity for individuals and families who love nature and adventures! Many trekkers are drawn to the picturesque scenery of Ha Giang and Cao Bang. Furthermore, these two locations offer the distinct and diversified cultures of minority ethnic groups that are fascinating to discover.

Our Chôm Chôm guides are local and knowledgeable; they will not only show your family the best places to see the stunning landscapes but also share their understanding of the wildlife and flora of the region.

Along the journey, you can see villagers dressed in traditional clothes working in charming fields. Interacting with the native ethnic people is also an exciting experience; you may have fun and learn about their traditions.

The more you travel, the more remarkable and unique things you discover. Can you imagine how beautiful it is to reach remote areas that few visitors explore, where peaceful villages with rustic stilt houses of ethnic people are hidden in the forest?

We highly recommend our Chôm Chôm families bring their kids on the trek. This is an excellent opportunity for kids to learn more about the wilderness and understand the importance of protecting the ecosystem. Giving children exposure to diverse cultures can help them become more open-minded, develop their language and social skills and improves children's empathy towards others.

2. CYCLING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE OF THE MEKONG DELTA, NINH BINH, & HOI AN

The countryside of the Mekong Delta, Ninh Binh, and Hoi An are ideal places for cycling, with their flat routes, peaceful atmosphere, and poetic nature.

You can cycle leisurely, breathe in the fresh air, witness the lives of the villagers when they work in the paddy fields, and catch fish or herb water buffaloes.

Observing the peaceful lives of the villagers and the lush surroundings can help you and your family feel relaxed and refreshed. Rural Vietnamese are usually friendly and greet you with cheerful smiles and waves.

We can help you combine your cycling with a visit to traditional craft villages to discover how local people make their distinctive products. With the inspection trip, we ensure that the roads are assessed and secure for you and your children.

3. DRAWING BATIK AND MAKING DÓ PAPER IN MAI CHÂU AND SAPA

The Batik drawing and Dó paper-making workshops are the perfect way to explore the distinctive art and culture of the H'mong ethnic community.

You and your family will learn to make your artwork with the guidance of the Indigenous people and their traditional methods. All materials used to create these two kinds of crafts come from natural sources.

After your family's adventures in the area, you can take in the workshops as a chance to relax and have fun. Chôm Chôm Travel recommends joining them with your kids; it will help enhance and develop their patience and creativity.

Participating in these two workshops can help promote and preserve the local traditional crafts. It is lovely to take home something you have made as a memento of your fabulous vacation.

4. VISITING LOCAL TRADITIONAL CRAFT VILLAGES IN THE MEKONG DELTA & HANOI

Traditional craft villages are the destination you should not miss on your Vietnam vacation, especially if you visit the Mekong Delta and Hanoi. These two regions are well-known for their traditional crafts, passed down from generation to generation.

The experience of meeting the local artisans can both open your mind and touch your heart. You can observe how expertly and meticulously they create their products and listen to their stories about their efforts to keep their traditional crafts alive.

Nowadays, many traditional crafts are gradually disappearing, and Chôm Chôm Travel is happy that we can offer an experience that can contribute to preserving these traditional crafts.

Our Chôm Chôm guides are locals and experts in their regions. They will know where to introduce you and function as a bridge to connect you with local artisans, allowing you and your family to have the most immersive experience.

5. COOKING DELICIOUS REGIONAL CUISINE WITH THE LOCALS IN HANOI & HOI AN

The experience promises to be filled with laughter and sensational regional cuisine. You and your family can have the chance to become locals by going to the local wet market, learning how to select the freshest produce, and discovering locally grown exotic vegetables.

Picking vegetables, slicing, and dicing the ingredients in the Vietnamese style can be an exciting experience. You will learn how to cook delicious local home food and learn more about the area and Vietnamese culture by following the guidance of our local cooking experts.

After the lesson, you will taste the delectable meal you made and take home the secret recipe, which you can cook to treat your family and friends.

6. SWIMMING, KAYAKING AND SNORKELLING ON THE PRISTINE BEACHES OF PHU QUOC AND CON DAO ISLANDS

If you and your family are beach lovers, the Phu Quoc and Con Dao islands are must-sees on your Vietnam family holiday.

The pristine beaches are very suitable for the water activities such as swimming, snorkelling or kayaking.

Immersing yourself in crystal-clear water and soaking up some sunshine can help you relieve stress and discover the diversity of marine life. Kayaking on the beach is ideal for enjoying the cool sea breeze and scenic island landscapes.

Phu Quoc island is one of the most excellent spots in Vietnam to witness a magical sunset. If you and your family visit the Con Dao islands between April and October, you will have the best opportunity to see many turtles come to the shore and lay their eggs.

Along with environmental protection, we prioritise choosing locally owned restaurants and services. We hope to support the local community to boost the region's economy to ensure residents can prosper and live happily in their homeland.

Contact us as soon as possible! Our Chôm Chôm team and our local guides have rich experience and significant expertise in organising ecotourism activities for our community. We assure you that we can help you and your family get the most out of these experiences.
